I rented this cottage in 1999 and 2000 to use as a base for my holiday, the cottage is  well positioned with an uninterrupted view of Loch Brora.  There is only  one other cottage nearby which is lower lying and does not detract from the view or feeling of isolation that you get. The wild life is all around the cottage, at night you may see deer in the grounds as well as along the banks of the loch.   The cottage is just over 5 miles from Brora village, so you don't want to keep  nipping out for a paper, the road is single track and you need to drive with consideration for other road users as well as the local animals that use the road a lot.

The inside of the cottage is like  a home away from home, the dinning room and kitchen are suitable for entertaining  and there is ample utensils/crockery/cutlery for around 8 people. One word of  warning for anybody renting a cottage this near to the loch, you have to be cautious opening windows, as you may find a problem with flies. The pictures  below show the Conservatory, Kitchen, Sitting Room and Dinning Room.  The cottage has central heating but you also have the coal fire, there is nothing  like a coal fire in these surroundings.

This is a picture showing the forest at the back of the cottage that adds to the feeling of being in the middle of nowhere, the deer may come down through the woods as the light fails early September.

These 2 photo's are from the front of the cottage looking out at the loch, the right hand photo shows Carol Rock.
