The new mill is one of the first things you now see when you approach the village, it is a modern white corrugated building.

The new mill was built using a large amount of public money and has struggled to date to make its way, and is currently in receivership, though it is hoped the receivers will be able to save the mill from closure.

If you happen to go into the mill shop then take a look at the large Office Desk and the Company Books on it.  Although this is intended as a sort of atmospheric display the books are from the old Hunters Of Brora mill, and contain information on many of those who made up the family.

UPDATE

The Mill is now in new hands, hopefully the new owners will have a longer future with the mill.  When I visited the mill in September 2000 all the items from the original Hunter family had been put away, giving the mill shop a more modern look.  When I enquired as to what was to happen to the items that used to be on display I was told some of them will be put back out in the shop, so hopefully the new mill will still maintain it's links to it's past.

Sadly the Mill has again gone into liquidation, it can only be hoped that it will once again be reserected, hopefully with a long term future for both the owner and the residents of Brora.
