I am so glad to be able to tell you that the work on the Castle has commenced and will be finished by the time of the Gathering in June. I hope that many of you will be able to come. It will be a momentous occasion as the work is being done because you all requested it and my very grateful thanks to all of you who contributed to the restoration of our Clan's Seat. As I have said before, we are one of the few Clans who still have their original seat. We are truly very fortunate and I am expecting a large number to attend the opening ceremony on the Friday evening (22nd June).
I am sure that you will all join me in sending good wishes to Adrian Hunter Gardner, Council member and our Acting Treasurer, for a full recovery after his recent illness. We all wish him well and send our thoughts to Peggy, his wife. I would also like to express my thanks on behalf of the Clan Hunter Association to Stuart Hunter, the Clan Events Co-ordinator and previous Clan Officer, for all his efforts and my regret that poor health has caused his resignation from that position and from the Association.

An excellent Burns Night Supper on 27th January was attended by several Clan members and myself (see membership Secretary Anne S.Hunter's report on Page 4). We had a very good evening and many thanks to Anne and Robert Hunter, our UK Clan Officer, for organizing it. The Hotel had arranged a wonderful supper, including of course the traditional Haggis, and some very amusing entertainment. We even had fireworks.!
As you already know, we are having the Gathering at the Castle and this year we are obliged to make a charge as all our funds have been put into the Castle Restoration Fund. The prices for the Gathering are as follows: £15.00 per person, £10.00 per child up to 10 yrs old, and those who are two or less come free. The cost of meals is as follows: £10.00 for the Friday evening buffet and also for the Saturday lunch; £18.00 for the Saturday dinner and £12.00 for the Sunday

What is a Trebuchet.?
HAVE YOU got one in your garage, garden shed or under the bed? Does your wife/husband/mother-in-law know about it? When did you last use/wear it?Anyone interested in the answer to this fascinating question will find it by attending the Clan Hunter Gathering at Hunterston 22-24 June
