CLAN OFFICER WRITES:

The Clan Officer Writes

Being the Clan Officer` I know the joys and the miseries that go with the smooth and some times not so smooth running of a successful and I mean successful Clan Association .We have everything that we need to be a success. Think of it, we have a Chief who actually cares for her clan she will invite you to visit her in her ancestral home the spiritual homeland of clan Hunter. I speak of Hunterston Castle. I have enjoyed many a good Ceilidh there in the company of the Hunters` and there is plenty more to come. [I hope] Furthermore, without the help of the following people [the Clan Council] believe me when I say, we would not be so successful:

1. The valued help of the Clan Secretary Miss Anne Service Hunter. She is my living memory and adviser. Anne takes care of the business side of the running of the council.

2. Gordon Hunter is an old friend who can be depended upon for the right advise and back. He has proved his worth again by taking over the office of treasurer since Adrian has left us .You know Gordon's date of membership actually predates mine I suppose we could be called the elders .Is that alright Gordon? Have I said the right thing?

3. The Clan Genealogist Brian Stanley Hunter B.A Staunchly reliable and selfless in commitment Brian specialises in the Hunter family tree if you are looking for your roots {HUNTER only} he's your man.

4. Stephen McGinty the new editor of our newsletter "The Hunter's Tryst" Stephen is also the web master talk to him at           www.clan-hunter-uk.co.uk he is our communications expert keeping the Clan up to date with all the latest news and most important keeping the Clan in touch with Hunterston

5. Alistair Hunter the Clan Chaplain not only looks after our souls. But his presence on the Clan Council has helped to establish our Association and to give us that touch of respectability

6. Bill Hunter is the clan's Publicity officer. Bill was one of the founder members of the council he also writes a good story. Read, "answering the call" The Hunters tryst Sept.2001

7. Peter Hunter is new to the council but is already contributing to the smooth Running of Clan & Council He too has a very good web site of his own. Named .The Hunters of Brora well worth a visit. www.hunter-clan.co.uk .

8. At this point I would like to say thank you to our past editor Mr. Nigel John Hunter, I hope that he approves of our latest effort.
If at anytime you feel that you would like to speak to your council or indeed to your Clan Chief
